Nice template, but I think it may be better if it can be a little bit stretched.

I like the Hobbit template very much, and I'm very interested in finding some templates for the New Blogger. I'll be glad when someone compiles a list of New Blogger templates.

I'm subscribed to Beautiful Beta via my Bloglines and I've gotten some very good tips here.

Keep up the good work, Hans.

This template is beautiful! Your templates are everyday better! I use your template angel & devil,a little modified, and i always read your posts.you're blog it's very good for people, like me, who don't know so much about html and want to improve their own blog. THANX FOR YOUR WORK! And sorry for my english..i'm italian..

I am curious if you got permission from the author to use and distribute a modified version of their work, or if you just stole it and are distributing it illegaly?

Hans said...

@Christine: if you had taken the trouble to follow the link in the demo you could have discovered that the template is distributed under a Creative Commons License, and can be adapted as long as a link to the original source is provided. And this I did. So please spare me your comments.

hans, can you convert an open-source template and put up for download? it is an excellent fluid, 3-col, style-switchable template. will you?
secondly, pannasmon-tata is not the original name. it is just her site name. her real name is chrisitna calabrese.

@diane j. : there is a list here.

@iaia: if you need to learn CSS and XHTML, check here, here and here.

Sorry diane j, i messed up the link. Its here.

Hans, first time to your site. I like a lot of your ideas and findings and will be back to browse. Thanks. I did have one question, how did you put that little bird icon into the "domain" area, where usually the google or blogger icon is? by the way I do like the Hobbit template.

AspiringTheologian said...

Anonymous,

I have one too on my blog. It's pretty easy to get an icon. It is called a favicon. Follow Hans' instructions here:

http://beautifulbeta.blogspot.com/2007/01/adding-favicon-to-your-blog.html

Or look it up on the web like I did and get the same general idea.

Can you tell me how you have set your LABELS in sidebar - it shows links of the posts instead of posts itself?

Hans said...

@Everyone: as som of you noticed, the new template doesn't render at all using Firefox. I also noticed glitches in IE6, but in IE7 it works fine. I'll work on it.

Man, that is a gorgeous template!

AspiringTheologian said...

Is it ready for FF yet?

Helge said...

I am working on it Hans, looks really good, but I do have a few questions.

Is it on purpose that it only shows one quote mark in the beginning of a quote and none at the end of the quote?

Also I dont find the place to put in the stripes.gif , I have searched for it with an editor but to no avail.

Oh my gosh Hans this is just beautiful!! I'm going to use it for my blog - I'll recommend your blog to all of my friends :) I have been looking for the perfect template for a very long time, and I think I just found it :) Thanks so much!

Hi great the template, thanks for porting it to the new blogger.

Everything works fine except for the small knife in the header where th e2 halfs dont watch as seen on the followingimage:

Tine said...

hi anonymous! i got the same problem, but it's only because you're viewing your blog when you are logged into blogger. when you're logged in, these small images appear to indicate that you can directly change the appearance of your blog by clicking on them. your blog's visitors will never see this, to them the 2 kinve halves fit perfectly! :)

Anonymous said...

i tried this template since i am absolutelly in love with the original web template - but i must say though you did an amazing work with it around the code - header and that little image of the knife aren't synchronised, and footer doesn't show at all... at least on my blog. needs a bit more work around the code, but great start, for start... nicelly done, i might see what else you have on this blog of yours.

tried your link from within the post and you may have been hijacked, all I saw were ads, nothing like the photo on your post.

Hi
I love this template :)
I use it on my blog and it works perfectly even with firefox.

But I noticed the dates of the posts are missing. Could you please do something to fix that up?

Thanks anyway for the beautiful template :)

Adam said...

I am using this template on my blog and it works out perfectly! Even in Firefox. One question though. Would it be possible to widen it a little bit? It's a little too narrow for what I have in my sidebar.

Adam said...

You know it would be really nice if you responded to the comments

Beta Bloke said...

@Adam (and others): templates I make are offered as is, without any strings attached. Use them at your free liberty. Want to widen it? Be my guest. Need help? Explain what your problem is and I will help. But please do some work yourself. In other posts of this Blog I have explained how to add sidebars, change their size, and so on. You can find all the info you need there. So to answer your question: yes, the width of the sidebar can be altered by changing the width-definitions in the sidebar css for the sidebar and for the contentwrapper. And you will have to change the artwork so that it fits. You can do that using the files I provided, using a program like Photoshop.
